Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial

PBS is going to air this special on Nov.13,2007.

‘One of the latest battles in the war over evolution took place in a tiny town of Dover in eastern Pennsylvania. In 2004, the local school board ordered science teachers to read to their high school biology students a statement that suggested there is an alternative to Darwin’s theory of evolution. Called Intelligent Design, the idea is that that life is too complex to have evolved naturally and therefore had to have been designed by an intelligent agent. The science teachers refused to comply with the order; alarmed parents filed a lawsuit in federal court accusing the school board of violating the separation of church and state. Suddenly, the small town of Dover was torn apart by controversy, pitting neighbor against neighbor. NOVA captures the emotional conflict in interviews with the townspeople, scientists and lawyers who participated in the historic six-week trial, Kitzmiller, et. al. v. Dover School District, et. al. , which was closely watched by the world’s media. With re-creations based on court transcripts, NOVA presents the arguments by lawyers and expert witnesses in riveting detail and provides an eye-opening crash course on questions such as “What is evolution?” and “Does Intelligent Design qualify as science?” For years to come, the lessons from Dover will continue to have a profound impact on how science is viewed in our society and how it’s taught it in the classroom. ‘

I would love to catch this special on TV, but I don’t think it’s going to be aired anytime soon in the UK. It seems it’s going to be an interesting documentary(??)/special so I’m hoping that one of these lovely torrent up-loaders would be nice enough to upload it as soon as it’s aired on TV &_&. Video

wallah, it seems interesting… I hope they will upload it on Torrents pages, so you can download it 😀

Keep checking those sites anyway, they do upload that kind of shows!

  2. Sis 4 You said,

sounds interesting, but I am too dumb to get what they r talking abt! Are they saying that humans selected their future generations in the past?

Hmmm… that’s weird! bas yeah I would like to watch it too… where do they come up with such ideas oh my god!?!

I know, It will be interesting to hear both points of views, Darwin is still messing people’s lives with his eveloution theory. I don’t believe in it anyway, as I found it carzy to believe but in other hand, I admire him as he wasn’t afraid of people reactions. He did what every scientist (I don’t know, if I should call him a sceintist) should do, Share your discoveries/theories with the world.
Hopefully, it will be uploaded very soon (After 17 Nov.)

Hehehe, Basicaly, it’s conserbative attack on the Darwin Theory and this Documentary chornicles the events; when The School Board asked science Teachers to say that there is a secert agent (I don’t know, How did they come up with that) who aided our great, great, great Grandads millions years ago in their transformation to the new man. I do get your question but It’s a broad concept,, Did they (Old pre-evolved generations) picked their new form with the aid of that agent, or did that agent was a massenger who picked the Post-evolution form for them because of an alian power/God?? I don’t know anything about this ‘Secret Agent’ theory and I’ve never heard of it until yesterday. I always thought that conservatives were religious who dismissed the evolution theory, but an agent aid aid, is something new to me which made it a necessary to watch this special. Sorry I didn’t help with your question, dear >_<

I know, it’s a weird theory which I have no idea where did it come from? Or who would believe in such a thing and try to inforce his believes in other people’s life. ???

Loll, I think the school was just simply bored from teaching the same things so they suggested this.
But looks so very interesting to see how people think.
I can’t wait to check it out. coool.
